Tits

OK…I’m speaking of the Federal One. Texas Governor Perry today asked for President Bush to declare four Texas counties — including Galveston County, in which I reside — federal disaster areas in the aftermath of last week’s puny little hurricane Humberto.  Huh?  Have we no rainy-day funds here in Galveston County and Texas to repair government facilities and public infrastructure?  I carry insurance on my house…am I paying for nothing?  Am I now being asked to once again pay for those who had made the decision that they didn’t need insurance (or didn’t get enough)?

My reaction was the same with the recent flooding in the upper midwest.  However, your reaction to my reaction would’ve been different if I had voiced my opinion then.  You would’ve then simply called me a greedy whiner who didn’t care about anyone else.  With my voicing this opinion now…I am asking to pay a price for actually following my own convictions by not asking for “my fair share” of federal dollars when it’s my turn at the tit.

Is there anyone left who can say, “I-N-D-I-V-I-D-U-A-L  R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y”?  How about, “L-O-C-A-L  A-C-C-O-U-N-T-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y”?  How about, “Cut out all the cash from going to the Feds and let’s keep it here so that we can take care of ourselves?”

Isn’t it time for all you good Republicans — who spew out beautiful words about the need for separation of powers and local control and responsibility to do some surgery on the Federal Tit?  To actually start doing something about it?  That’s why Ron Paul’s supporters are so committed to him – thru thick and thin.  He actually introduces legislation and votes in accordance with his words on the campaign trail and during Special Orders in The House.  I’m not necessarily agreeing with all he has to say — although I agree with much of it.  I am saying that it is so refreshing to see a politician who consistently does what he says.
